South Plains Association of Governments

Welcome to our blog series centered around Season 3 of Hub City Spokes, the podcast we got to produce in partnership with the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance! Before we jump in, if you want to subscribe to the podcast or check it out on LEDA’s website, you can find it here.

Epsisode 10 SOUNDS like it’s going to be boring. Trust us, it’s NOT boring. I won’t lie, my brain wants to go to sleep at the mention of any association of government, but these two ladies, Kelly and Naomi are really interesting. They are from the South Plains Association of Governments which is a Council of Governments that serves a fifteen county region in North WestTexas. SPAG is the only organization representing all general purpose governments, both cities and counties, in the region. Cool, right? They might just have the pulse on what’s going on around here.

The important thing in this episode is the Support Lubbock Fund where SPAG partnered with LEDA to provide $2 million in support for Lubbock’s small businesses following the COVID-19 pandemic. Kelly and Naomi give a look into how they reacted and adapted to the changing climate in order to keep businesses alive in our region. Check it out and let us know your thoughts!

If you enjoyed this podcast, we only have one blog left next week to close it out. Let us know what you think! If you’re wanting to produce or create a podcast, or just want to explore video production for your business or brand, give us a shout, we’d love to talk! You can Reach us at
