ALONE | VFX Featurette
Welcome to a really exciting blog for us! We recently had a short film, ALONE, that we did some visual effects work for and it finally released back on december 3rd! If you haven’t gotten to watch the short yet, you can watch it right now! WARNING, there are SPOILERS in this blog, so we HIGHLY recommend you WATCH THE SHORT FIRST!
Wasn’t that cool?! At the point that I’m writing this, the film has around 163,000 views (just on youtube)! It’s INSANE TO US and that happened within 8 days of releasing the film. We’re mind blown and humbled by such amazing reception of this film.
VFX FEATURETTE
Initially when we started working on ALONE back in March (?) I had an idea in my head to do a featurette, behind-the-scenes film about our work on this short movie. It’s been planned in my head nearly all year, but it took the release of the film to get us into gear and actually produce it! Sit back and relax this ten minute, behind-the-scenes look at the visual effects we did on ALONE. Shout out to Michael Vignola for allowing us to use the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the music in this featurette.
We have had a few comments asking what certain terms mean, so I’m going to link to some short, helpful videos next, because I’m too lazy to explain it and these fine folks explain it much better than I ever possibly could.

It was incredibly cool to be involved in a project that’s done SO WELL since it’s release. It’s a huge testament to the ingenuity and creativity of every single person that worked on this project, from the talented writer, J. Scott Worthington, to the director and good friend of ours, William Hellmuth. We really can’t thank William enough for having the faith in us to provide us the opportunity to be part of this short film and to work with the amazing crew he put together.
We LOVE doing visual effects and graphics integration for movies. ALONE really stretched my wings as a designer/animator and Ross’ as a compositor. For more info on our VFX work, you can watch our visual effects reel!
