HarperFest Brand Film | 2023

In the late summer of last year, we had the opportunity to shoot for another local Lubbock non-profit, HarperFest! Harperfest is a really unique and much needed nonprofit created to support mental health for service industry workers. Don’t let us tell you about them, check out their brand film!

Dusty and Randi originally approached us with this idea and desire to shoot around April 2023. It took several months to get all our ducks in a row between their organization and ours.

The date was set and our location was Bodine’s Cocktail Parlor in downtown Lubbock. Bodines is a pretty unique bar and makes for a really gorgeous shooting location! After our initial scout, we knew we wanted it to feel like a moody, night interior. It’s what we picture when we think “service industry” or “bartending.”

One of our favorite aspects of shoots like this is just hearing the stories that bring a movement like this to life. Even if those stories aren’t inherently pleasant. Sometimes, we have to face the unpleasant stories to make a difference in the world. As you saw, the reason HarperFest started wasn’t pleasant, but needed.

The setups for this shoot were really fun to pull off. As you have seen in our work, we shoot a LOT of interviews in a lot of spaces and each space provides a unique challenge in filming. Most of the time, we want to capture the essence and ambience of a space, unless it’s something unusually sterile (like conference rooms). Bodine’s was certainly a unique and fun location to scope out! It has a lot of character and makes for a great video location!

We love helping elevate nonprofits to get their message out equally to those who need their services and those who can help support their mission. If your organization has a need like this, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help!
