LABOR XII – Suffocate Music Video

This may be our favorite project of the year! Are we biased? TOTALLY. If you didn’t know or weren’t aware, Ross and I have a band called LABOR XII (click the name for more info) and recently we got to release our first ever music video.

Let me tell you, it’s REALLY DIFFICULT to perform and direct a music video at the same time. But we did it and we’re extremely happy with the results. We knew we wanted a performance based video, so our biggest caveat was finding a location. We needed a location we could access on the weekend (when everyone was available to shoot) and also would let us do whatever we needed to do inside to make the video work.

Luckily, Chris Lemer at Sniper Dent Co gave us the PERFECT place to do this video. Shameless plug for Sniper, if you have any body damage to your vehicle, give them a shout and tell them we sent you!

The music video itself came together but not without the help of everyone involved. We’re EXTREMELY thankful for the dedication and expertise of our good friend Josh Dansby and his willingness to contribute to this video. He did a bangup job! We also couldn’t have done it without Haley and Terri Hamil who were camera operators for the majority of the shoot. Like I said, it’s a little hard to shoot a video when you’re supposed to be performing in it.

Overall, it took us probably 7-8 playthroughs to really get the coverage we wanted and several additional takes to get our specialty shots like the rolling camera in verse two of the song.

The music video was a LOT of hard work but we’re extremely pleased with the results. If you find yourself jamming out and would like to support our band, you can head over to laborxii.com/crowdfunding to back our debut album, “MONSTERS.” If you just want to jam Suffocate a little more, you can find it on ALL streaming platforms!

As a production company, we are committed to giving our clients the best possible end product. We also don’t encourage anything we wouldn’t do ourselves. Your business may not need a music video, but if you feel like it can use some creativity and a breath of fresh air, head over to our contact page and give us a shout! We’d love to help your brand level up its visuals!
