Cameras
Since 2013, our camera of choice has been Blackmagic Design. Known for their cinematic quality and innovative features, Blackmagic cameras are a cornerstone of our contract video shooting service.
With the development of their proprietary BRAW Gen5 codec and new generation sensors, Blackmagic has positioned itself as a go-to solution for productions ranging from small commercials to national campaigns.
Our journey with Blackmagic began with the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K. From there, we expanded our arsenal to include the 1080p Pocket Cinema Camera the 1080p Micro Cinema Camera and 3 of the 4k Pocket Cinema Cameras.
Over the years, as technology advanced, so did our camera collection. We now operate with one 4K Pocket Cinema Cameras, one original 6K Pocket Cinema Camera, the 6K Full Frame Cinema Camera, and the 6K Pyxis.

These lenses are the same optics used on Hollywood films and prestige television productions.

What would a contract video shooting production be without batteries? A short one. For years, Hamil Bros has partnered with BlueShape Batteries. We first learned about BlueShape Batteries in 2014 while attending the Illumination Experience tour with Shane Hurlbut in Dallas, TX.
Between the regular class day and the extended master class day, we realized how essential reliable batteries are, and BlueShape makes exceptional batteries. Starting off with their Granite Mini 90wh, we’ve continually upgraded and now rely on their powerful Granite HD290wh batteries.
We also bring our Blueshape 4-bank charger along with the Blueshape Mini Power Station, ensuring everything on set stays powered and the shoot goes smoothly. Since then, Hamil Bros has proudly endorsed BlueShape Batteries.
Audio
Video is only half the picture—great sound makes the difference between “good enough” and “professional.” As part of our contract shooting services, we offer up to 8 channels of simultaneous 32-bit float audio recording, which means you don’t have to worry about clipping or distorted levels.
We use a combination of high-end microphones from Slate Digital, Lewitt, Saramonic, and Rode. Whether we’re capturing dialog on set, interviews in the field, or atmospheric soundscapes, you can count on clean, clear, and editable audio to match the high quality of our footage.

Gone are the days of blazing-hot lights and limited lighting flexibility. Our current lighting package features a suite of professional-grade LED fixtures that deliver precise, adjustable output—without the heat or heavy power draw of old-school tungsten.
Our LED systems allow us to quickly adapt to lighting challenges on set, from color temperature shifts to tight shooting schedules. Adjustments can be made wirelessly via mobile apps, speeding up setup and changes throughout the shoot.
