First off, we want to thank you for the support you show us every day. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate all the encouragement we receive.
A week or so ago, we saw someone tweet a video about a really sweet short film contest for Rode Microphones out of Australia. I got really excited, but had to remind myself to read the rules and regulations before I got too many ideas in my head. So, after reading the rules, we continued to be exited about the film opportunities!
The rules state that the film may be up to 5 minutes long and must have an accompanying behind the scenes video showing that we used Rode products during production. Easy, right?
So we began writing a script and it’s very near completion. With the script, we more or less signed off on some of the scenes allowing me to begin storyboarding. I’m tremendously excited about this film, as it’s my first major script to write. Ross has been extremely helpful in suggesting and editing, as well as writing probably the biggest key point in the whole film.
The process has been slow and time consuming but the pre-production is going to really play a major part once the production begins. This film is rather intense and is going to take a fair amount of practical and visual effects to pull it off.
We’ve had unbelievable collaboration around the Lubbock area down to Houston, and even into New Mexico. We’re excited to see how it will turn out and hope you all stay up to date with the blog. We should be posting videos and updates as we go through the production phase.
