**How Video Production Can Make a Difference for Nonprofits: The Story of Hamil Bros Studios and Spring Creek Ministries**

For as long as Hamil Bros Studios has been in business, we’ve been committed to supporting causes that matter. Whether through video storytelling or hands-on involvement, we’re dedicated to helping nonprofits make a greater impact. One of the organizations close to our hearts is Spring Creek Ministries (SCM), a faith-based nonprofit offering crisis support to individuals and families. And this year, our partnership with SCM brought us into contact with the inspiring Burk family and their journey through an unexpected medical crisis.

Ross, one of our co-founders, has served as a board member for SCM for years. After wrapping up a recent project with Champion Xpress, he and Jacob set out to upgrade their vehicles, an everyday task that ended up sparking a powerful story. During Ross’s search, he met John and Tiffany Burk. While Tiffany was at home retrieving the car title, John struck up a conversation with Ross. In what felt like divine timing, John shared the story of his daughter Brynn’s diagnosis with diabetes insipidus, a rare and challenging condition. John himself didn’t know why he was sharing this deeply personal story with a stranger—but Ross did. He knew he was in a unique position to help.

Through his years of experience and connections in the nonprofit world, Ross was able to leverage relationships not only with SCM but with other organizations, including Hallie’s Heroes and Colton’s Encouragement, to find support for the Burks. As part of his role on the SCM board, Ross even initiated a fundraiser to help the Burks cover the substantial travel expenses for Brynn’s treatments, as they traveled frequently from Lubbock to Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston.

And then came a pivotal moment: we sat down with the Burks and captured their story on video. Hearing the Burks’ journey firsthand allowed us to see how powerful video production can be for nonprofit storytelling. By sharing personal experiences, a story becomes more than words; it becomes a connection, an opportunity for empathy, and a catalyst for change. Through video, we’ve been able to show the heart of Spring Creek Ministries and how they help families like the Burks during their most difficult times.
